Countless and Never-EndingTasks!
*Sigh*
Last week was a nightmare. I really could write a 10-pages essay about the week. But not to worry, I'm not gonna do that. Why should I? It was a nightmare so why should I waste my time writing about it that will only annoy me more.
So, this is just swift review and an excuse for not writing for a week.
Monday : No breakfast. Early morning, the MFD electrician came in to add power points because the heavy duty machines needed 15 Amp points. So 4 heavy duty machines= 4 15Amp points added. The expertise were needed to standby. Our Building Management Unit. Power point installation complete. Had sandwich for lunch. The MFD should have arrived in the morning but no. It came in at 4.30pm which gave them just an hour to put each machine in the right location. Luckily I have come up with the schedule. Although, AN hour is not enough. They will only deliver for the one trip. I was surprised to found out that the machine did not come with the finishers. *Duh* They will have to deliver and install on Tuesday. BUT I have a system (OSS) training to brief to all the Admin Officers. Stayed back til 7.30pm to finalise the data, stock count and test the entire thing as well as prepare the handouts and flyers. The training will start at 10am.
Tuesday : No breakfast, again. I had to prepare the attendance list. Update a few last-minutes users. Print the flyers with the help of the expertise. The Printing Unit. At 10.00 am sharp, I gave the briefing of the OSS system. The system was really simple and it helps me monitor the 'ins and outs' of the office supply. Luckily all my participants understand what I presented. After the briefing I had a small discussion with the techno guys (Our IT Unit). A few enhancement is needed, such as reporting of all categories and an additional 'here and theres'. At the same time of the briefing, the 11 MFDs and 15 finishers was delivered with two trips. It came in partially. They installed the heavy duties in the afternoon. I needed the help from IT again because it had to do with networks and driver installations. The rest of the machines had to be delivered on Wednesday. According to the agreement I had with PIC, everything should have arrived within this two days. But like I said, it was my week's nightmare. Late evening, I had to finish up a few memos and approve a few bills (medicals, office supplies, maintenance jobs, etc)
Wednesday : Another round of MFDs arrived. But still there were remainings not delivered. I've got tons of memos and paperworks to do. While I was visiting floor-by-floor, one of the bosses asked about his Executive Screening. Yeah! I'm onto it. Late afternoon, I had to follow-up with all the complaints/ feedbacks from the office. Made an appointment and procurement application for the additional ESP.
Thursday : No breakfast. The remaining 7 MFDs arrived safely. However, to make things worse, there were some accessories missing from the finisher. So they were no able to install 100% of the B & W Machines. Before lunch, another vendor came to relocate hundreds kgs of safety box to the West Wing. I had kebab for lunch. In the afternoon, our IT guys went through the locations to locate networks. I stayed back again to finish up a memo to Organization Planning Unit which I owe them to request for extra set of hands.
Friday : Installation of MFDs. But could not do much for the B & W because lack of accessories. Although they did manage to install/ authentic/ enable the USB ports for scanning and printing. At 3.00 pm, I had a meeting with the machine specialist and IT guys about the management system of the MFD. There were a few issues that needs further discussion. At 5.00pm, I brought the specialist to look at a different machine at the Library. I got lots of complaints there. I've guessed it. I got other feedbacks to follow-up with, too. Medical especially. Hello!! I can't even bring my own son to the clinic and I'm managing others for the perfect service. I hate dealing with ungrateful and 'full-of-complaint' people. And GREAT! I got Auditors coming in May for Asset Management which I haven't even started looking into that. And one thing after another, 2 of my temp CSEs hand in their resignation. They got a more secure post. I'm 2 manpower short. I can't even imagine what's gonna happen next week. Plus I haven't prepare a single thing for the Asset Meeting. I got another medical bill to clear. *phew*.
Next Week: Another major nightmare. I got two evaluation meetings. Bulk-Mailing and Blazer. Oh, God, please help me.
I'm grateful that I got other Units to support my back. Thanks a bunch!
