Ikram 2nd Admission

Swollen eyes, rashes on the face, fever still high (38.7C), he's lost his appetite, ulcer in mouth, lips and tongue, he's no longer active.

November 6th, 11pm, Ikram admitted again for pneumonia. Poor boy. This time, more test had to be done because the 4 antibiotics didn't work.

He was given drip, antibiotic (ceferoxime), oxygen, nebulizer 6 hourly.

November 7th, the allergic reaction. That was what I thought at first.

There was some patients who have been admitted for almost 3 weeks because of high fever, fits and no response to meds (either PCM and even antibiotics) *groan* And they seem to know each other for years. Like one big family. It's a full house here, by the way. What kind of virus is this? I panicked.

But after the specialist has visited, it was MEASLES. So we were isolated from the big family. We had the single room for ourselves. Ahhh, finally, some privacy.

On the 3rd day, Ikram still had fever. He became sleeping beauty the 3 days of admission. His activity was SLEEP...SLEEP...and SLEEP...

Asleep while playing puppet. Nenek taught him. Oh! He was no longer on drip. *phew*

Tok Wan came to visit. Irfan felt jealous that all the attention were given to Ikram. Ikram stare at Irfan, just like to pick up a fight. Plus Irfan's eating on his bed. Who's going to clean up the mess, he thought. Cik Na brought the balloons.

November 10th, the 5th day of admission, Ikram still had the fever and his lungs didn't improve. So the doctor had to give anothe antibiotic (amikacin). Poor boy. He's going to be overdose with too much drugs in him.

My Admin team came too. CC Norm, Zila, Hafiz and Ruslan. Thank you guys. I think they have missed me so much since I haven't turn up for work for almost 2 weeks.

November 13th,the 8th day of admission and the 4th day of amikacin, the doctor said, his liver enlarged from 1cm to 5cm. OMG!! What does that mean?? The doctor said it was because of the infection. My theory was, it was the side effect of the antibiotics. He's had too much or maybe because he's allergic to it. By the way, the docs didn't really know and to be sure, they had to do another blood test, which they only succeed after 4 trials. OMG! You should see the bruises on his hand.

That same night, during the antibiotic process, rashes started to be visible on his face as well as his body. And he's started scratching and became uncomfortable that he couldn't sleep and cried the whole night until the doctor gave him, OMG, another medicine to relief the itch. This continue on the 5th day of amikacin as well. But only at night.

Not to panic, the result came out alright. The liver function is still well. Unfortunately, they can't explain why he got the rash and itch.

Uncle-uncle from IT also came. Twice. And they bought Ikram Angry Bird. There, which flew on top of his head.
Feeling a lil better. He did drink lots of water and his milk. But he still  had no appetite.
Usually, he hates getting nebulized. He'll scream and wriggle his body, pull on the wire..did everything that a scared lil boy should do.....But because he kept repeating the treatment for the ---upteenth time, he got used to it. And he even held it on his own. Good Boy.

 Feeling much better. Peekaboo.

Irfan, was his loyal visitor. Irfan brought his fave cars and they played together. Then Irfan showed Ikram outside the window and said "Look, Ikram. There's freedom outside this hospital."

Irfan prayed for Ikram to get better soon. So that he has a friend to play with or someone to bully.

Oppss! I missed out this pic. Zila, patting Ikram on the back. " Get well soon"

November 15th, Ikram got discharged because he's completed his antibiotics and there were no fever. but he's got an appointment on the 22nd to check his liver.

November 16th, we decided to get him the Pneumococcal shot after all. So we went to our in-house clinic BUT he's fever came again. 38.0..The doc can't give him the shot. After getting some advise from her, we've decided we're not going to give anymore medicine to Ikram. It's like turning your son to become a drug addict.. it's toooo damn ... We only spongebath him. Put wet towel on his head 24/7.

November 17th & 18th, still fever.

November 19th until to date, phew, after all our restless days and sleepless nights, giving old school treatment, Ikram became better. free from fever. Free from drugs.

ALHAMDULILLAH!!
