Dr. Hira's Kandahar Volunteer and Sacrifice

Both, husband and wife are not only doctors but are actively volunteers of Malaysia's MERCY.

Dr. Hira's kind at heart and do much of voluntary works while her husband became the President of MERCY. If you got to know them personally, you can't believe they are "somebody". They live life so humbly.

One of Dr. Hira's mission earlier (I think it was in 2008/ 2009) in Kandahar, Afghanistan. I didn't know she went for the mission because she seldom tell anyone where she goes or what voluntary work she does. She'll let her friends know only after the mission. (Or was I the only one who didn't know? Or else my mom never told me.)

 Pure at heart.

 The volunteers.
 Giving lessons.
 All the medicines they have.
 The doctor on call.
Enjoying their water supply. Living life like any other kid in the world.
 The beauty in Kandahar.
See those holes on the wall? They are gun shots during the several attacks.
 Business as usual.
The doctor holding a gun/ rifle for the first time. "Please lock the trigger. We don't want anyone to get hurt, do we? "

Her side of the story:
She said they always had to take 'wuduk' because we never know when we'll die. When any bullet or bomb hits us. When you're there, you'll never know what to expect. Even when the locals are living life normally, there could always be an attack in a matter of seconds. Even in a situation like this, business operates as usual, kids goes to school like any other days. They were tired of living in fear so they lived life the fullest.
