A Day Visiting Patients!
Speaking of patients, I have never even thought about being a doctor, nurse, physio nor working in an office at the hospital. I am neither of the above mentioned.
Ever since Raya AidilAdha, all I heard about is kids being admitted for high fever, pneumonia or bronchitis. Believe me, I've been there. Irfan was admitted once when he was 7 months old. Ikram experienced a lot more, twice and with the oxygen and nebulizer. That was when he was almost 1 year old. Tsk..tsk..tsk.. well I written all of that before. No need to mention again.
I got a call the Raya Night, a daughter of a colleague of mine was admitted in KPJ Specialist, Shah Alam.
Last Thursday, I got a text from Lin & Bob (also colleagues), saying both their daughters were admitted in HKL due to high fever. The elder is 3 and the other is 8 months old. What broke my heart was that the 8 months girl had oxygen tube on and all wired up for her antibiotics. Just like Ikram. That was so painful to watch.
My nephew was admitted in KPJ Specialist, Shah Alam the same day due to bronchitis.
So on the Saturday, I woke up feeling, "Let's visit these patients and make their day." Although they don't really feel like we're making their day, because living in a hospital was just plain miserable when you're sick. I went to HKL first and then KPJ.
But when you're at the hospital, just bear in mind that it's better to have to specialists and nurses to watch over them and get the right treatment because you'll be more restless and clueless at home.
Get well soon kids.
